With preseason camp well under way in both Oxford and Starkville, the guys have plenty of topics to hit on this week.
Parrish has a brief update on the NCAA’s response to the Ole Miss response regarding allegations of violations (1:58). Up next in the process is the school’s appearance before the NCAA Committee on Infractions on Sept. 11.
On the field, the Rebels are looking for answers at free safety (5:56). On offense, QB Shea Patterson has looked good, and Parrish breaks down the running back situation.
For MSU, there are a handful of position battles being wage (3:36), but most everyone involved in those battles will see playing time regardless of where they fall on the depth chart. Logan also examines QB Nick Fitzgerald and his need to improve as a passer (11:36).
The guys take a look at the schedules, too. Ole Miss opens against a South Alabama team that stunned MSU last year (9:01), while the Bulldogs opens against Charleston Southern (14:27). Logan says State learned some valuable lessons last season from the South Alabama setback and several other close losses (17:23).
For both teams, the Arkansas game could prove a turning point (20:18). And MSU gets another crack this year at BYU (24:29), which won a close one last season in Provo.
