Ole Miss and Mississippi State both suffered blowout road losses last weekend, and there are plenty of issues to dissect in this episode.
The Rebels fell 66-3 to No. 1 Alabama, and that has Parrish wondering about the emotional state of the team (11:26). Confidence could become an issue if Ole Miss doesn’t compete better this week at Auburn; following that showdown is a key three-game homestand.
While Jordan Wilkins had a good game against Bama (8:13), the Rebels still have the worst rushing offense in the FBS. The offense as a whole has struggled mightily the last two games, with playmaking receiver A.J. Brown held in check by the Tide (20:15).
MSU, meanwhile, was hammered 49-10 by Auburn (1:52). There were too many penalties on the offensive line, the defense allowed a lot of big plays, and quarterback Nick Fitzgerald had a mediocre outing.
The Bulldogs have an open date this week and have a chance to regroup (14:59). There are some very winnable games over the next few weeks, but the overall play must improve.
